The public interest litigation (PIL), filed by RTI activist Nutan Thakur through her counsel Ashok Pandey, also sought monitoring of the case by the court.
In her plea, the petitioner requested the court to direct Principal Secretary (Home) and Economic Offences Wing to lodge an FIR on the basis of primary investigation report conducted by Viklang Kalyan Department (department for welfare of the disabled) and Social Welfare Department of the state.
The PIL has pleaded for lodging of an FIR, Thakur's counsel said, adding that the case should be monitored by the court as the matter pertains to the Union Law Minister.
Six parties, including the UP government through Principal Secretary (Home), Economic Offences Wing (EOW), the central government through Ministry of Social Justice, Principal Secretary (Social Welfare) UP, TV channel Aaj Tak and Dr Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust have been made respondents in the PIL.
The PIL is likely to come up for hearing on October 17.
