A self-styled area commander of the banned People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI), carrying a reward of Rs 2 lakh on his head, was arrested here on Wednesday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of police officers apprehended Harihar Mahato alias Ram from Dadimela village of the district, Superintendent of Police Asutosh Sekhar said.
Mahato, who had been living at a rented accommodation in Ranchi with wife and two children for the past one year, was wanted by police in eight cases of violence and arson, Sekhar said.
Two pistols, one of which was loaded, three magazines, twenty bullets, four mobile phones, several SIM cards and an identity card issued from Assam have been recovered from his possession, the SP added.
