"A final decision in this regard will be taken by the party state executive, which will meet soon," Ramadoss told reporters here, a day after DMK chief M Karuananidhi said his party has decided not to contest the by-election.
AIADMK MLA representing RK Nagar, P Vetrivel resigned on May 17 amid speculation that Jayalalithaa, who was acquitted by the Karnataka High Court on May 11 in the disproportionate assets case, may contest from there.
To a question on going in appeal against the acquittal of chief minister Jayalalithaa in the case, Ramadoss said he was the first person who wanted the Karnataka government to go in for appeal against the verdict.
Ramadoss was here to review the preparation and also to decide the venue for the party's West Zone meeting scheduled on June 12.
