The two men, who were travelling in a car laden with illicit liquor, were arrested when the police stopped the vehicle at a check post last night near Hajipur underpass, they said.
The accused were identified as Braj Mohan and Bittu, both residents of Faridabad. Their Honda City was seized along with the 35 cartons of illicit liquor, they added.
"They were booked under excise act and sent to jail. To check liquor smuggling police and excise department jointly conducts raids and keep surveillance of vehicles at borders," District Excise Officer, Kuldeep Yadav said.
