The case was registered against Jaskaran Singh, Arts and Craft teacher at Government High School in Dhalleke, on the outskirts of Moga town yesterday, they said, adding the accused has not been arrested yet.
The victim had lodged a complaint with the Moga police a few days back against the male teacher, who was also in charge of the mid-day meal scheme at the school, according to police.
The headmistress, in her complaint, alleged that when she repeatedly asked Singh for the accounts pertaining to the mid-day meal scheme, he refused to show her the same.
Singh also allegedly threatened her not to demand accounts of the scheme from him.
An inquiry into the complaint was conducted by a DSP-rank officer, following which the case was registered against the accused teacher.
