Police constable dies in mishap

Two persons, including a police constable, today died and another constable was seriously injured when their motorcycle collided with a lorry while overtaking it near here today, police said.
The trio were on way to Sivaganga for attending a wedding when the mishap occurred.
The motorcycle rider, with two pillion riders,tried to overtake the lorry when a bus suddenly came in the opposite direction. He applied sudden brake and lost control of the two-wheeler and fell down.
Police said while constable Ranjithkumar and Balaji was run over by the lorry, another constable Saravanan was seriously injured. He has been admitted to hospital.
