Naik Kiran B Boite was caught red-handed yesterday by Thane unit of ACB, while receiving the sum in the afternoon after a trap was laid at the police station, SP Datta Karale told PTI.
Boite had demanded Rs 5000 from the complainant after he registered a NC against his son following a dispute, to which his wife registered a counter NC against him.
The cop later settled for Rs 2,000 for not registering a chapter case against the complainant, ACB said.
