"A case has been registered on a complaint against Amantullah Khan and his men on a complaint by a resident of Shaheen Bagh in Okhla. Investigation is underway," said a senior south east Delhi police officer.
The case was registered on the complaint of Syed Taseer Ahmad, under Sections 506(criminal intimidation), 341(wrongful restraint), 325(causing hurt), 34 (criminal act done by several persons with common intention) at Jamia Nagar police station last night, he said.
Efforts are being made to ascertain whether Amanatullah was present on the spot as the complainant has claimed to have been assaulted by him and his men.
Amanatullah said that police has registered the case without "proper investigation" on "false" charges by the complainant.
"At the time of the alleged assault I was not there instead I was at Pocket 9 A in Jasola. I cannot be at two places at the same time. Police knows that I was not in the crowd that allegedly attacked the complaint but they still filed the FIR under pressure," he said.
"The MLA is against me since I opposed him and his activities. I had also lodged complaints against him with police previously since he threatened to kill me," said Taseer.
