Concerned over the incident, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had on Thursday sought a report from the Delhi Police over the matter.
Confirming the submission of the report, Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi today said the report was handed over to the ministry on Friday.
"The entire information regarding the case has been submitted to the Ministry and investigation is on. We are in contact with the residents of the northeast and they are aware of the efforts of the police to solve the case," Bassi told PTI.
On Wednesday night, 33-year-old PhD scholar Keashung Zingram Kengooa was found dead with his neck slit.
He had completed his PhD from Tata Institute of Social Sciences had come to Delhi just a month ago and was searching a job.
The Commissioner also spoke about the other two incidents where youths from the northeast were found dead in the last week and said these were "accidental deaths".
Two youths from northeast were found dead in South Delhi's Malviya Nagar and Munirka on Thursday taking the number of such incidents to three in the last week.
