Patna Chief Judicial Magistrate Ramakant Yadav passed the order granting remand of Ranvijay Kumar alias Rahul to the police for 24 hours for questioning in connection with the gangrape of a girl here.
The order followed a prayer application filed by the police for investigation in the case.
Kumar, one of the six accused in the gangrape that took place two months ago, had surrendered before the district court on July 27 and was sent to judicial remand in Beur jail.
The police later obtained Kumar's remand from Beur jail after presenting the copy of the court order to the jail authorities.
