Power supply disrupted in various areas of the state after the dust storm yesterday has been restored, State Power Utilities today said.
Power supply, especially in Karnal, Yamunanagar, Hisar and Gurgaon where intense wind storm had disrupted various transmission lines and damaged tower,s was restored, a spokesman of the Power Utilities said here.
In Karnal, five 220 KV towers got damaged and another 220 kV line got tripped due to which supply of seven 132 kV substations at Indri, Amin, Bahdson, Nilokheri, Kirmich,Ramba, Biana and two 220 kV substations at Unispur and Karnal were affected thus causing the breakdown of the supply of the area.
He said taht within an hour of power failure, HVPNL staff of Karnal circle arranged alternate source of supply for giving supply to the entire affected area.
He said that the 54 km line consisting of 174 towers of 220 kV Unispur -YTPP line was got patrolled in the bad weather on war footing by the staff and officers to identify the actual cause of power failure.
Many eucalyptus trees were also found fallen in the fields on tower line during patrolling of the transmission line.
The tentative loss to the Nigam has been assessed around Rs 40 lakh on account of bad weather and wind storm in Karnal area only, he said.
He said that Gurgaon area also had heavy storm which affected one of the circuits of 400 kV line between Dhanonda and Daultabad and 220 kV line connecting Daultabad and Manesar.
The transmission line to Manesar was restored immediately after storm lost its intensity and 400 kV was also restored within four hours followed by immediate patrolling by HVPNL staff.
Similarly, due to heavy wind storm in Yamunanagar, a big tree fell on the 66 kV main bus-bar and damaged the 66 kV Khera-Gobindpuri circuit-I and-II. Consequently three limbs of 66 kV breaker were got broken into pieces and the other connected auxiliaries were also damaged.
Thereafter, the supply was restored through 220 kV substation Jorion within an hour after repair of damaged bus-bar, he said.
Hisar area also had heavy storm, which lead to outage of the circuit of 400 kV Kirori-Khedar line, 220 kV Kirori-Samain and 220 kV Samain- Masoodpur line.
The transmission line was restored in few hours after patrolling by HVPNL staff, he added.
