The 20-year-old Hyderabadi then saw off local player Riichi Takeshita 21-14 21-15 to reach the main draw, which will begin tomorrow.
Praneeth will now take on Daren Liew of Malaysia tomorrow.
He had failed to make it to the main draw of the Li Ning China Masters last week.
