Holders MPHA in Group A of Jr Women National hockey c'ship

Hockey India selectors and government observers will keep a close eye on the performance of the eves as the tournament will form the basis for the selection of probables for the national camp ahead of next year's FIH Junior Women World Cup.

As many as 29 member units of HI have confirmed their participation for the championship which will be played on a league-cum-knockout basis on artificial turf.

The inaugural match of the event will be played between Mizoram and Andhra Pradesh in Pool A on October 1.

The orgainsers of the tournament, Hockey Haryana will get a grant of Rs 13 lakh from HI for hosting the event, a statement from the national federation said.

PooL A: MPHA, Mizoram, Andhra Pradesh;

Pool B: Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Manipur, Hockey Bhopal;

Pool C: Chandigarh, Kerala, Bihar, Assam;

Pool D: Odisha, Karnataka, Gujarat, Puducherry;

Pool E: Haryana, Maharashtra, Goa;

Pool F: Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir;

Pool G: Uttarakhand, Punjab, Bengal, SAI Bhopal;

Pool H: Delhi, Rajasthan, Tripura, Himachal Pradesh.
