Mukherjee, who will leave here tomorrow, will inaugurate the new building of Vidyanagar College in South 24 Parganas on January six, an official said today.
The President will also inaugurate the 200th birth anniversary celebration of Pandit Madan Mohan Tarkalankar, who was a Bengali poet and a Sanskrit scholar, at Bilwagram in Nadia, also on Wednesday.
Pandit Tarkalankar, who was born in 1817, had developed Bengali text-books for children.
He had also established a print shop and a bookstore titled the Sanskrit Press and Depository. He started this business along with his friend Vidyasagar.
