Prices of commodities rise

Barring sugar, prices of all other commodities showed an increase in the wholesale foodgrains market here during the week under review.
Opening the week at Rs.7,900 thoor dal was up by Rs.100 per quintal from its closing rates of Rs.7,800. It again increased on Friday by Rs.100 to finish the week at Rs.8,000.
Urad dal closed the week at Rs.8,200, its price increasing twice on Monday and Friday by Rs.200 per quintal from its closing of Rs.7,800 to finish the week at Rs.8,200.
Similarly price of moong dal increased twice by Rs.100 on opening day and Friday from Rs.9,500 to close the week at RS.9,700.

Gram dal opened the week at Rs.3,900, an increase of Rs.100 per quintal from its previous rate of Rs.3,800 and rose again on Friday by same to finish the week at Rs.4,000.
Price of wheat was steady at its opening price of Rs.2,700 which marginally increased on Friday by Rs.50 per quintal to close the week at Rs.2,750.

Maida (90 kgs) and Sooji (90 kg) opened the week at Rs.2,500 and Rs.2,900, an increase of Rs.100 each from its last week's closing rate of Rs.2400 and Rs.2800 respectively.
Both maida and sooji closed the week at Rs.2500 and Rs.2900 respectively.

Sugar was down by Rs.50 per quintal to Rs.3100 from its closing rates of Rs.3150 and closed the week at Rs.3100.
