The Goa government Thursday said it will complete by August end its inquiry into the work orders given by the state Public Works Department (PWD) between 2013 and 2018 to find out whether any irregularities took place during that period.

Talking to PTI, PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar said the inquiry, which is currently underway, will be completed the end of next month.

He said the work orders given during former PWD minister Sudin Dhavalikar are being investigated as many of the works are left incomplete, causing inconvenience to people.

""All the files pertaining to the works tendered during 2013-18 are investigated after it was found that several of the projects were left incomplete," he said.

He said action would also be initiated against Dhavalikar, if he is found involved in any irregularities.

According to Pauskar, action would also be initiated against officials if their involvement is found.

"I don't say that my officers are corrupt or inefficient. But if they are found to be involved in any irregularities, action would be launched against them," he said.

He added that the government will complete all the incomplete works within stipulated time.

Pauskar, who was earlier with the Maharashtra Gomantak Party (MGP), had broken away along with Manohar Ajgaonkar to merge the group into the BJP in March this year.

MGP leader Dhavalikar was dropped from the cabinet and was replaced by Pauskar.
