Locals and activists of a Hindu outfit today held protest in Sikandarpur village here today after some villagers alleged sighting of parts of bovine carcass, prompting senior police officers to rush to the spot.
Some villagers allegedly noticed the parts of the carcass on the outskirts of the village and informed police.
Scores of 'Hindu Raksha Dal' activists led by its president and villagers raised slogans against the police and demanded action against those involved in the act.
Superintendent of Police (city) Ajay Pal Sharma and ASP Ashish Srivastava rushed to the spot along with heavy posse of policemen.
They pacified the protesters and assured strict action against miscreants involved in the alleged bovine slaughter.
"Bovine parts have been sealed and sent for examination to Forensic laboratory at Agra," SP (city) Sharma said.
An FIR has been registered at Sahibabad police station against unidentified miscreants and probe was on, he said.
