Protesters try to enter venue of program attended by Kanhaiya

Police today used lathi charge to drive away a group of around 50 protesters who tried to enter the venue of a program attended by student leader Kanhaiya Kumar.
Kumar was special guest at a program to welcome a team of All India Students Federation and All India Youth Federation which was passing through Indore during their Kanyakumari to Hussainiwala (Punjab) Yatra.
Protesters from local right-wing organisations tried to enter the auditorium near Bapat Chowraha where the program was taking place, police said.
The protesters said Kumar had played a role in the alleged anti-national slogan shouting at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi, so they opposed his arrival here.

Meanwhile, Dr Anand Rai, whistle-blower in the infamous Vyapam scam, told reporters that when he and Kumar were heading towards Gita Bhavan square after the program, an unidentified person threw a stone at their jeep in Vijaynagar area.
Nobody was injured, though the glass of a front-side window shattered, he said, adding that no police case was lodged in this connection.
