Pulses weaken on ease in demand from retailers

The wholesale market ended on a weak note today as select pulses prices fell up to Rs 100 per quintal due to easing demand from retailers at prevailing levels against adequate stocks.
Traders said sufficient stocks in the market following the government announced measures to check rising prices and a fall in demand from retailers at current levels mainly led to decline in prices.
In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local moved down by Rs 100 each to Rs 9,100-10,100 and Rs 10,200- Rs 10,400 per quintal respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 10,300-10,900 and Rs 10,700-11,100 per quintal.
Moong and its dal chilka local declined by Rs 50 each to Rs 7,000-7,600 and Rs 7,600-8,000 per quintal respectively. Moong dhoya local and best enquired lower by a similar margin to Rs 7,950-8,450 and Rs 8,450-8,650 per quintal.
Masoor small and bold drifted by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,500-6,500 and Rs 5,550-6,550 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded lower by the same margin to Rs 6,700-6,900 and Rs 6,800-7,000 per quintal respectively.
Gram eased to Rs 5,100-5,550 against last close of Rs 5,100-5,600 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality shed Rs 50 each to Rs 5,200-5,500 and Rs 5,400-5,700 per quintal respectively. Kabli gram small variety too weakened by Rs 100 to Rs 5,100-7,500 per quintal.

Masoor small Rs 5,500-6,500, bold Rs 5,550-6,550, Dal Masoor local Rs 6,700-6,900, best quality Rs 6,800-7,000, Malka local Rs 6,900-7,300, best Rs 7,000-7,500, Moth Rs 5,800-6,200, Arhar Rs 10,100, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 13,500-15,000.
Gram Rs 5,100-5,550, Gram dal (local) Rs 5,200-5,500, best quality Rs 5,400-5,700, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 2,330, Rajdhani Rs 2,330, Rajma Chitra Rs 4,900-6,300, Kabuli Gram small Rs 5,100-7,500, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,000-5,200, Peas white Rs 2,600-2,625 and green Rs 2,950-3,050.
