Punjab govt to honour medal winners: Sukhbir

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today said that his government will soon honour all Commonwealth and Asian Games medal winners belonging to the state.
Sukhbir, who is also holding the sports portfolio, said "Punjab government will honour all the Punjabi players who have won medals in the Asian and Commonwealth games".
The winners from Punjab would get Rs 26 lakh, Rs 16 lakh and Rs 11 lakh for gold, silver and bronze medals respectively in a special felicitation ceremony to be held very soon, he said.
Punjab is proud of its sportspersons who have brought laurels to the country and the State, he added.
