The Jammu and Kashmir police has deployed drones to maintain aeriel surveillance of the city, especially around M A Stadium, the main venue for the Republic Day celebrations.

Newly-formed crisis response teams (CRTs) have also been deployed in sensitive areas, police officials said.

"The air patrolling is being conducted through drones in most of areas of the city to keep an eye on any suspicious movements", a senior officer told PTI, adding that focus is also on highways and border areas.

CRTs have been deployed to ensure real-time action in case of any untoward incident and to deal with suspicious activities, they said.

Roads leading to the stadium have been barricaded, the officials said.

Jammers and scanners have been installed too, a police officer told reporters.

Police have intensified checking of vehicles and frisking of people, officials said, all entry points of Jammu are being guarded round the clock.

They said a traffic advisory has been issued for the convenience commuters.

The Railway Police and the CRPF on Friday conducted a massive anti-sabotage drill at the Jammu railway station, ahead of Republic Day.

Security has also been beefed up in and around the Udhampur and Katra railway stations, the officials said.

Full dress rehearsal for Republic-Day parade was held in all districts of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday
