Raghubar Das govt completes one year in office

Marking the completion of his first year in office, Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said his government has met the expectations of people and shaped the outcome of the next four years.
The works undertaken during the past one year has underlined and shaped (the outcome of) the next four years, he said here adding "Promises are being fulfilled and will be fulfilled."
Pledging to continue to wield the whip against corruption, he said, "BJP had agitated against corruption. And it is in power. So (there is) no question of any compromise on corruption at any level".
Das took oath on December 28 last year as the first non-tribal Chief Minister of the state.

Conceding more improvement was needed at the lower rung of the bureaucracy, he said information technology could help improve it.
The enormous natural resources of the state and meritorious and industrious human resources could make the state prosperous by eradicating poverty and generating employment.

Das said as 2016 rings in, Jharkhand should look ahead for evaluation of its progress as it could be done only by looking ahead.
"Every one of us has to develop Jharkhand," he said.
The chief minister said it pained him to see people still struggling to make their ends meet and deprived of basic infrastructure even after 68 years of Independence.

"We have to change these realities to Jharkhand's all round development. We can do it as there is no dearth of natural resources. But for this, we have to change our perspective... Any state can become great when thoughts are strong and people are aware."
He said maximum demands were for basic needs like better roads, drinking water, electricity, irrigation and stressed upon the implementation of schemes for them.
"Discrepancies in schemes and delay in their implementation will affect the poor, the deprived, especially dalits, tribals and backward class," he said, adding that it was time it (implementation of schemes) were accelerated.
