"I am a big fan of him (Rahman). He inspires so much with his music," Bharadwaj said at a promotional event of an upcoming film "Jugni" here last evening.
"Actually, the scenario of Indian music completely changed when he came in. I remember when the music of 'Roja' was introduced, the whole country's perspective towards music changed," he said.
Bharadwaj also credited Rahman for bringing Indian music up to the international standards.
Debutant director Shefali Bhushan has got Rahman and Bhardwaj on board to sing one track each in her directorial debut "Jugni".
Bhardwaj's track is a travel song composed by Clinton Cerejo.
When it comes to music, the "Haider" director feels there is lot of talent in the interiors of India.
"We have lot of talent, especially in the interiors of India. As we see it in reality shows... Shreya Ghoshal is an example. When I saw the film, I found it beautiful, it is an honest film. The music is extraordinary, the compositions are earthy," the filmmaker-music director said.
"Clinton is one of the finest musicians we have today. I was surprised with his composition. Shefali has worked a lot for this film. I hope the music of the film is promoted well," Bharadwaj said.
The film is slated to release on January 22, 2016.
