Rai granted bail in case filed by Rupam Pathak for raping her

Justice Hemant Kumar Srivastava granted a regular bail to Rai, a close aide of the slain MLA.

Pathak,running a school and acqaintance of the slain MLA had lodged a case against Keshari and Rai in a court in Purnia district in August,2010 charging them with raping her.

Rai had absconded after the case was filed against him, but later on March 7, 2012, surrendered before a local court and applied for bail which was rejected by the district court

Pathak was convicted by the CBI special court for stabbing to death Keshari at Sipahi Tola on January 4, 2011.
