An assistant director in the Town Planning office in Raigad district of Maharashtra was allegedly caught red-handed Friday by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000.
Kishore Dattatray Girola, the accused, had allegedly demanded Rs 50,000 to forward a report regarding occupancy certificate (OC) for a construction work inAlibaug to the district collector's office, the ACB said.
After a complaint was filed, the ACB laid a trap and arrested Girola while allegedly accepting Rs 40,000 at his office, it said.
Girola had earlier worked as an under-secretary in the state urban development department, said an ACB official, adding that further probe is on.
