Strengthening the security and safety infrastructure in Railways is a continuous process and various steps are being taken to improve these aspects, a Railway Ministry official said.
An integrated security system comprising CCTV, access control and anti-sabotage checks, has been sanctioned to strengthen surveillance mechanism at over 202 sensitive stations across the country.
Based on threat perception and to strengthen surveillance, the official said railways have installed 5,367 CCTVs at various stations.
