The eastern part of Uttar Pradesh received rains till 8.30 am today even as Fategarh was the hottest in the state recording a high of 35.1 degrees Celsius, the meteorological department said.
The South West Monsoon has been normal over East Uttar Pradesh. Mirzapur and Haidergarh in Barabanki district each received 5 cm of rainfall followed by Jhansi 4 cm, Bikapur in Faizabad, Varanasi, Sirauli, Gauspur in Barabanki, Amroha and Muzaffarnagar each received 3 cm rainfall, an MeT official said.
Night temperatures were above normal in Jhansi and Agra divisions and were normal in the remaining divisions of the state.
The weatherman has forecast rain and thundershower at most places in the state tomorrow.
