Raj Assembly passes state budget by voice vote

Rajasthan Assembly todaypassedthe state budget 2016-17 by voice vote after Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje assured that the measures she has outlined are aimed at making Rajasthan a modern and advanced state.
In her reply, the chief minister made several announcements for rural development, road, medical and health, Information Technology, school education, drinking water, water resources among others and made handmade tools --pliers, cutter, pincer, hammer, tongs -manufactured in Nagaur tax free to promote the handmade tool industry.
The chief minister announced to raise the annual limit of MLA LAD from present Rs 2 crore to Rs 2.25 crore.
Exemption of entry tax on local transport of yarn is among other tax-related proposals Raje made in the speech.
Raje also announced to make available e-sign facility for various applications through 'Rajasthan e-Sign: Secure e-Signature mechanism for residents and government employees' system.
"Rajasthan will be the first state in the country to provide this facility," she said.
She also said that government offices will be made less paper offices.
Initially, she said that works like appointment, meeting, leave, transfer, posting, deputation, tour and travel management, leave encashment, payment of bills, various NOC, project approvals, sanctions will be online and manual files will not be used in these works.
"This is to bring a change, it will take time but certainly it will be implemented," she said.
She also announced IT training to 2 lakh people in next two years and free travel facility for accredited journalist in VOLVO buses.
Before the announcements, the chief minister called upon all the members of the house to play their constructive role in the development of the state.
She reiterated that the former Congress government left the fiscal condition of the state in a poor situation but despite that, the she made presented an inclusive budget.
She said that the state is doing well in attracting investment.
