Talking to reporters on the sidelines of NCC day celebrations here, Bedi said she will follow Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal (on Mann Ki Baat) to achieve the goal of cashless society, in Puducherry.
"Raj Nivas has now decided to adopt a village in Puducherry and all the NCC volunteers in the Union Territory would be associated with the programme as the purpose would be to ensure the village becomes clean, cashless and digital," she said adding it was for the NCC Headquarters to select the village for the scheme.
She pointed out that the proposal for adoption of a village by Raj Nivas was on the same lines as the scheme implemented to enable MPs to adopt villages in their respective constituencies.
