Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has said BJP leader Vasundhara Raje should apologise for the killing of innocent people in police firings in Gujjar protests during her regime.

Addressing a public gathering in eastern Rajasthan having sizable number of Gujjar voters yesterday, Gehlot accused Raje of misleading people of the state to grab power.

"In 21 police firing incidents, 90 people, including 70 Gujjars, were killed in her rule but she has not offered apology for this," he said.

"She is misleading people by telling lies but people have now understood her tactics. Her dream (of grabbing power) will never be fulfilled because people can differentiate between bad and good," Gehlot said.

The Chief Minister also slammed Raje for saying that the medicines distributed under the free medicine scheme by his government were poison.

"She has lost self control in anger and is saying that free medicines are poison. By saying this, she is demoralising people but voters will give her a suitable reply in elections," he said.

Gehlot listed the achievements of his government and highlighted initiatives like pension schemes, free medicines, setting up new projects like IIT, IIM and other measures taken for Special Backward Class people.

He addressed public meetings in Bharatpur, Karauli and Dausa with party leader C P Joshi and Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla, who last week announced to support Congress in elections, among others.
