There was no official word on the 30 minute meeting, except that it was pre-scheduled, but it came on a day the Supreme Court issued notice to Yadav, the Centre and the Madhya Pradesh government seeking his ouster.
There was speculation that a decision on continuance of Yadav as Governor may be taken after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's return from his visit abroad on July 13. But there was no confirmation.
There has been demand for the removal of the Governor over his alleged links to the Vyapam scam but the Madhya Pradesh High Court had quashed an FIR against him on grounds of constitutional immunity.
However, the Supreme Court today issued notice to the Governor, the Centre and the state government on the demand for his removal without commenting on demands that he should demit office.
