Justice S Nagamuthu, who was given the report about the progress made by CB-CID in a sealed cover today, read it and expressed satisfaction over the progress made so far.
However, he rejected the plea of CB-CID Superintendent of Police P S Anbu to give them three months time and directed him to complete the probe by December 18.
The HC had on Friday granted three more months to CB-CID to crack the case.
Ramajeyam's body was recovered with severe head injuries on the banks of the Cauvery river in Tiruchirappalli district on March 29, 2012.
Justice Nagamuthu was hearing a petition filed by the wife of Ramajeyam to transfer the case to CBI in view of the 'failure' of CB-CID to crack the case even after a long time.
Anbu was present in the Court to assist it on the petition.
