Rape victim attacked with sharp weapons in UPS

A teenage girl was today attacked by some persons in Salempur area, who allegedly used sharp weapons to make her blind.
The 19-year-old girl was raped two years ago and the accused are in jail, police said.
The incident took place when the girl was in a field, they said.
Police suspect the attack was an attempt to weaken the case against the accused by threatening the victim.
Additional Superintendent of Police RS Gautam said probe is on in the matter.
The girl has been admitted to hospital, where her condition was stated to be stable.
