Ravindra Bharathi School kids win NASA space design contest

Students of Ravindra Bharathi School (RBS) won the international space settlement design contest organised by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) of the USA, for the sixth consecutive year in a row, sources said.
Addressing a press conference here today, dean of the North Andhra zone of the school G R Vasantha said that four projects from RBS won prizes in the international contest.
RBS students won the first prize for their project 'Schone Welt', second prize for project 'Danto Deo', third prize for project 'Arcturus' and fourth prize for project 'Vilaya Rakshanam'.
As many as 592 projects were submitted by 1,536 students and 168 teachers, from about 70 nations across the world, out of which four prizes were bagged by 30 students from RBS, which has been the one and only school to bag such success in the contest, for six consecutive years.
RBS zonal in-charge M Venkatesh said that students who won prizes would attend the 33rd International Space Development Conference (ISDC-2014) at Los Angeles, USA, from May 14 to May 18, this year, to present their projects and interact with scientists as well as dignitaries.
