The music composer has judged kids reality show "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs" and will now be seen as a coach on &TV channel's "The Voice India Kids".
In an interview to PTI, Himesh says, "When the kids learn under the best music coaches, it is like going to a school. It takes them to the next level in their career.
"It is important for children to learn, whether they want to pursue music or any other field. It (reality show) helps them identify which profession they want to get into in future. (I feel) It is better to identify your interest at an early age."
"I have done one season with 'The Voice' but that was for seniors... I always thought I was a child prodigy as I had done 300 songs when I was 13-14-years-old.
"But I realise now that they are child prodigies already at the age of seven or nine and are singing like legends. There are some who are ready to do playback in films. They are talented and versatile," he says.
Through the new show "The Voice...", Himesh says he will get an opportunity to handpick a team of talented young singers.
Himesh says he is fascinated by the children's ability to be all-rounders.
"They are innocent souls, but at the same time this new generation of kids are exposed to media. They know everything, they are in touch with the digital world. They are open to all kinds of suggestions. Their grasping power is commendable and it is much more than the senior generation," he says.
