Reasi district in J&K to have 30 new Health centers this yr

In a bid to strengthen the healthcare set up in the remote mountainous district of Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir government will launch 30 new health centers including various primary health centers and sub-centers this year.
"As many as 30 new health centers including various primary health centers and sub-centers will come up in the hilly district of Reasi this year," Deputy Commissioner of Reasi, Sushma Chauhan said.
Sushma, who is also chairman of District Health Society, reviewed the physical and financial achievements and functioning of healthcare institutions in the district especially under centrally sponsored Scheme, National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).

Chief Medical Officer Dr Parminder Singh briefed the meeting about the progress of various schemes under National Health Mission and planning sector for the first quarter of current financial year ending June-2015.
He said that about 1,017 institutional deliveries were conducted; about 223 institutional deliveries were escorted by ASHAs.
The CMO said that under Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakaram, 610 pregnant women and 15 neonates were provided with free referral transport, 506 pregnant women were provided with free diet and 38 sick neonates provided drugs and consumables.
The DC advised the Medical officers that strengthening the Mother and Child Tracking system in the district shall be the best and the fastest tool to improve the Institutional delivery.

The patients should be referred to outside the district only if the facilities required for such treatment are not available, she said.
