Received record 23,400 public grievances this year: govt

An unprecedented 23,407 public grievances were received by the government this year, Lok Sabha was informed today.
Of these, as many as 21,045 were disposed of, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Jitendra Singh said in a written reply in the Lower House.
A total of 17,943, 13,183 and 8,673 public grievances were received in 2014, 2013 and 2012, respectively. Of these, 16,490, 12,625 and 7,071 grievances were disposed of during the specific years, he said.
The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances is the nodal agency on all grievance related issues. Grievances received from the public as well as employees are forwarded to the ministry concerned or department, the minister said.
