A Judicial Magistrate Court here has ordered police to register a case against four forest department personnel including for allegedly black mailing and extorting money from a farm owner, police said today.
The farm owner Raja, who owned farm at Thaniparai said that a wild boar was found dead in his farm. The forest officials who took photograph of the animal with Raja sitting by its side, had been black mailing him, as if he had killed it and extorting money from him.
He said he had put up fence to prevent wild animals damaging his crops and a pig was found dead near the fence on April 13 last year. Since then they had been blackmailing him, he said.
Raja in his petition said that forest personnel demanded Rs 75,000 for not filing any case against him. He had paid Rs 30,000, but even then they had been demanding more money.
Frustrated by the act of the forest officials,he filed a magisterial complaint at the Srivilliputhur Magistrate court, which directed the Watrap police to file a case against the officials including Ramachandran, Chinnakaruppan, Subburaj and Sankarapandian and prosecute them.
Police said today that they have registered a case and are investigating into the complaint.
