According to a Railway spokesman, Bansal spoke to UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for taking stock of the situation. Chairman Railway Board Vinay Mittal also spoke to the UP Chief Secretary. The spokesman put the death toll to 20 and the injured figure to 23.
