In Mumbai, Bandra Fort will be the venue of the campaign

that will see dalits, sex workers, trans-genders and others sharing their thoughts and experiences on the theme 'Why I am Rising'. Celebrities like Farhan Akhtar, Rahul Bose, Nandita Das, Mita Vashisht, Javed Akhtar, Atul Kulkarni, Ehsaan and Loy and Rekha Bhardwaj will participate in the event which will also see a flash mob of 100 persons and performances by the Odissi Dancer, Jhelum Paranjpe, protest rappers and other movement singers. In Ahmedabad, well known dancer Mallika Sarabhai will perform the traditional garba dance with more than 20,000 men and women at the Sports Ground, Gujarat Vidyapeeth. In Andhra Pradesh, Asmita and 28 other organisations will motivate thousands of people across the state. The day will see a rally at Necklace Road in Hyderabad followed by a cultural programme at People's Plaza. In Bhopal, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan along with actor Shabana Azmi will attend an event titled 'Bol ke Lab Azad Hain Tere'. The event will cut across ideological and party lines and bring together members of leading social movements such as the Narmada Bachao Andolan, Bhopal Gas Peedit Mahila Udyog Sangathana, Khedut Mazdoor Chetana Sangath, national and women's organisations. Shillong will celebrate the campaign with a cultural evening marked by myriad expressions in the form of songs, dance, traditional drum beats and chants to highlight the demand to end violence against women and children.
