The Cricket Board today rubbished a news report that it intended to close down the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore and convert it into a rehabilitation-cum-training centre.
"It's a totally false report arising out of the figment of imagination of the person who wrote it. The BCCI annually assesses the functions of the NCA and its three regional academies based in Chennai, Mumbai and Mohali," said Prof Ratnakar Shetty, BCCI's General Manager, Game Development.
"There is no truth in the story and no such thing Of closing down NCA has even been discussed (in the BCCI)," added Shetty while reacting to the news report that appeared today.
Shetty also confirmed that there is a meeting of the NCA Committee on April 22 at Chennai.
