Making the announcement after inaugurating the three day 'Mahakavi Kalidas Sammelan' at Kaviltha in Kalimath area of Rudraprayag district yesterday, Rawat threw light on the Puranic history of Kalimath and said Kalidas' poetry is renowned all over the world.
Research in the field of ancient poetry which helps introduce the younger generation to the treasure trove of Sanskrit literature will be given incentive by the state government, he said.
He also asked people to revive their interest in agriculture as a measure to put brakes on migration from the hills in search of livelihood.
Kalidas is said to belong to Kalimath area.
