Rice basmati extend gains on stockists buying

Extending gains for the third straight day, rice basmati prices rose further by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on sustained buying by stockists against restricted supplies from producing belts.
Bajra also strengthened on increased offtake by consuming industries.
Traders said steady inflow of buying by stockists against restricted supplies from producing regions kept rice basmati prices higher.
In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa -1121 variety advanced by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,300-5,400 and Rs 4,050-4,950 per quintal, respectively.
Other bold grains like bajra also gained another 30 to Rs 1,520-1,525 per quintal.
