Outgoing Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Patna Jitendra Rana had yesterday said the name of Anant Singh, JD(U) MLA from Mokamah, had cropped up after interrogation of four persons arrested in the case in which one Putush Yadav was murdered.
Rana told this to reporters before vacating office as SSP Patna. He has been transferred to Motihari and his place has been taken by Vikash Vaibhav.
He demanded inclusion of the MLA's name in the case and his immediate arrest. He also sought reinstatement of Jitendra Rana in Patna till probe was completed in the case.
He also said the party team would hand over the probe report to Lalu Prasad.
A RJD delegation would also meet Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to seek seeking action against the MLA.
Singh known for strong armed tactics pleaded innocence and alleged that Rana was nurturing "enmity" against him.
Relatives of the three, who had managed to escape from kidnappers on June 17, who were present at MLA's house corroborated MLA's assertions.
With the incident snowballing into a political issue, JD(U) maintained that law would take its own course.
State JD(U) spokesman Neeraj Kumar said Rana's transfer has nothing to do with the case and asserted law would take its own course.
