The incident happened on October 10 when Rupesh Gaur was returning home after attending a function at Hallmark Banquet Hall in Karkardooma around 10.30 pm.
A car brushed past and overtook Rupesh's near Hargobind Enclave in east Delhi, police said.
One of the occupants of the other car allegedly abused Rupesh but he moved ahead without paying heed.
When Rupesh reached near Anand Vihar police station, the car hit his vehicle a few more times.
In his complaint, Rupesh alleged he was beaten up with revolver butt and they also snatched his gold chain and Rs 8,600 in cash he was carrying.
Rupesh said they were asking his younger brother, Om Shanker Gaur, to step out of the car but he didn't give in and they fled after breaking Rupesh's mobile phone so that he is not able to contact police, said a senior police officer.
"After Rupesh approached the police, a case under sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery), 397 (robbery, or dacoity, with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt), 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees, 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) IPC has been registered," said the officer.
