The robbers who decamped with valuables worth Rs 27 lakh from a jewellery showroom in Rohini, had advised the employees there against risking their lives by trying to resist crime, a senior police officer said.
Crime Branch and Special Cell officials today visited two jewellery showrooms in northwest Delhi's Adarsh Nagar and Rohini, that were targeted by robbers yesterday, the officer said.
In the Adarsh Nagar case, Hemant Kaushal (40) was shot dead in front of his son and helper allegedly by robbers inside his shop.
"The helper told police that the accused had made him lie to the ground while they were taking the valuables. Kaushal was inside the strong room and came out after the commotion.
"While the accused were escaping, he caught hold of one of them and was shot," an officer privy to the probe said.
