"Menwhopause," a rock band formed in the year 2001 who launched their first album for free on the Internet says the worldwide web serves as an important tool to spread their music.

"When we started back in 2001 there was no broadband or wifi connections and we had those dial-up connections. Despite that we discovered a lot of music on the Internet and decided to give our first album for free there. The idea was to give the first album for free and charge for the second one," says Abhishek Kutty, guitarist and founder 'Menwhopause'.

The five-member group has over a period of a decade established themselves on the domestic music circuit and continue to have a presence on the Internet.

Meanwhile, "The Circus" another rock band who made it to the final stage at a TV show says reality shows have the "biggest advantage" of reaching out to a lot of people.

"Even though we were eliminated in the last episode, the show gave us a lot of exposure and we met a lot of people. One of the biggest advantages of the show was that people outside Delhi started recognising our talent," says Abhishek Bhatia lead singer of the Delhi-based group. MORE
