A farmer here has alleged that Rs 1.70 lakh has been fraudulently withdrawn from his account by a company, police said today.
Kewal Singh, a resident of Pindi village under Ghania Ke Banger police station, has lodged a complaint with the Fatehgarh Churian police station in this connection.
In his complaint, he alleged that he had received a mobile call in which he was asked to give his ATM code for opening a bank account on December 6.
But after a period of 18 minutes, a total sum of Rs 1.70 lakh were debited from this account, he said.
Police registered a case against a Luckhnow-based company under section 420 of IPC and 66 and 67 IT Act.
