Rs 11,450 cr EDC charges outstanding against developers in Hry

A whopping Rs 11,450 crore is yet to be recovered as External Development Charges (EDC) from colonisers and developers in Haryana till date, the state Assembly was informed today.
Of the total amount, Rs 8491 crore are outstanding while rest of the amount is "under stay".
This information was given by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in a written reply following a question raised by Congress MLA Karan Singh Dalal.
Dalal had sought to know the total amount of EDC pending against colonisers in the state till date along with their names.
About the action taken against the developers, the Assembly was informed that licenses of 20 such developers were cancelled for various lapses, including defaulting EDC payments.
