All scrapped notes were found in the 'Hundis' (donation boxes) of the 12th century shrine at Puri, said Maheswar Panigrahi, the administrator (Niti).
The temple has received Rs 3 lakh in old Rs 500 and 1,000 notes during Rath Yatra festival from July 10 to July 20, he said.
Stating that old and scrapped notes are now a major concern for the temple administration, Panigrahi said so far scrapped currency notes worth over Rs 12 lakh have been recovered from several donation boxes at the temple after the demonetisation drive.
The Centre on November 8, 2016 scrapped old notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denominations and had allowed the demonetised currency notes to be deposited in banks till December 30, 2016.
